Arboriculture
As part of the commitment to sustainable and environmentally friendly development, detailed arboricultural surveys are currently underway for the two sites at Coleshill Heath Road. These assessments are being undertaken in accordance with relevant British Standards and will provide a comprehensive understanding of the existing trees, hedgerows, and wider green infrastructure across the sites.
The findings of the surveys will directly inform the evolution of the proposed layouts, ensuring that existing vegetation is a key consideration throughout the design process. In particular, any mature or high-quality trees identified through the assessment process will be retained wherever possible and incorporated into the overall landscape strategy for the developments.
Existing boundary hedgerows and trees are expected to form an important part of the sites’ green framework, helping to reinforce defensible boundaries, maintain visual screening, and contribute positively to local character. These features will be retained where possible and enhanced through additional native planting and landscaping, creating attractive green corridors and supporting biodiversity.
The proposed access arrangements and development parcels will continue to evolve in response to the arboricultural findings, with the aim of minimising impacts on existing trees. Where limited tree removal is ultimately required to facilitate development, appropriate mitigation and replacement planting will be provided to ensure the long-term enhancement of the sites’ green infrastructure.
